little update

Life continues on even on the other side of the world. (Relatively speaking, of course -- you could be on this side of the earth.) This past Saturday I went to Enoshima with two other missionaries and about 10 members from the church they are working in. We went to the only legitamite beach in Tokyo to clean the trash. We'd done this once before Christmas and it was a blast. There were only 7 people then so the size doubled this time! It was very fun. We even had a random wind surfer come up and tell us he wanted to help pick up trash for a little while. No one knew who he was and he spoke English. He was at the beach with friends but he still took some time from surfing to help us! So cool.

After the beach we ate at an "Italian" restaurant that had been Japanized. The food was great but it all had a Japanese taste to it. The squid and octopus and all that just kind of ruined the whole Italian-thing. Good times, though.

Things have slowed down for a bit at LLI. Amy and I and church members are preparing for Kid's Day on the 23rd this month. Amy and I also have assessment coming up in July. We are undertaking a big project to assess and level all our students so that we can put them all under one curriculum series to make it easier for them, us and any future V'ers when they have to choose a new text book. Should be interesting. If you happen to have any ideas please send me a message or e-mail.
